Karachi: Arfan’s father of Pakistan advanced in the semi-finals of the Heyball Asian championship after a remarkable day during which he beat two consecutive Indian cueists.
The UK based player has dominated India Shahbaaz Adil Khan 7-3 for the first time in the knockout stages before ahead of Shivam Arora 7-6 in a quarter-finals.
Arfan will now face another Indian player, Sunday Gulati, in the confrontation in the semi-finals later in the day.
Heyball, known as the Chinese version of the 8-ball swimming pool, mainly differs from table standards and pocket design.
Pakistan is represented in the championship by two players – Arfan Dad and Nadeem Gull. Gull, however, was eliminated in the round of 32.
