The Arkansas razorbacks dismissed football coach Sam Pittman and appointed Bobby Petrino the acting coach on Sunday after the team’s unbalanced defeat against Our Lady Fighting Irish.
The Razorbacks had no answer for the Fighting Irish attack during the 56-13 defeat. Notre Dame collected 42 points on the Arkansas in the first half. The quarter-Arrière CJ Carr succeeded four passes from Touché and Jeremiyah Love ran for two scores.

The defeat lowered the Arkansas at 2-3 over the year, but it was apparently the last straw for the university.
“I would like to thank the Pittman coach for his service and his dedication to the University of Arkansas throughout his head coach time,” said director of athletics Hunter Yurachek in a statement. “From the first day, you can say how this opportunity meant for him. For the moment, however, I think that a change is necessary to put our students and our program in the best position to succeed.
“The objective of our football program is to be very competitive in the Southeast Conference and to compete for a national championship. While we are advancing in the research process of our next head coach, I am sure that we will be able to provide the resources necessary for our staff and our team to achieve our goals. We will start a national research for our next head coach and that research will understand the coach Petrino to be a candidate for full work and research. “

Pittman was 32-24 years old since he took the post of Arkansas in 2020. The team made three Bowl games and won each of them. The Razorbacks had a 7-6 file last season and won the Liberty Bowl.
Petrino led to Arkansas from 2008 to 2011. He was dismissed before the start of the 2012 season after an accident of motorcycle launched a scandal in the program.

He was the latest Louisville head coach in 2018. He was 119-56 in 14 years as a head coach in university football.
