Arshad Nadeem in Pakistan ended a 52 -year -old gold medal drought for Pakistan at the Asian athletic championships, attributing his victory to the prayers of his parents and the nation.

Nadeem won the Gold in the Javelin Throw event at the Championships organized in South Korea, ending in front of Sachin of India, which took the money.

Yuta Sakiyama from Japan secured bronze with an 83.75 -meter throw, while the Sri Lanka Ruishi Tharana path was finished with 83.27 meters.

The other participant of Pakistan, Muhammad Yasir, ranked eighth with a better throw of 75.39 meters.

“Winning this medal is a great honor,” said Nadeem in a shared message on social networks.

He added that success was a blessing from Allah and because of the prayers of the nation. Nadeem also recognized the efforts of his coach, Salman Butt, describing the medal as a product of their relentless work. This victory marked his first international victory since his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

He should land in Lahore on Sunday evening at 10:20 p.m.

The victory brought recognition and global respect of Pakistan on the international scene. The victory of Nadeem was welcomed by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Pakistan won gold last time at the Asian Athletics Championships in 1973, when Allah Daad obtained the javelin throwing title and Muhammad Younis won gold in the 800 -meter race.

Previously, Nadeem was named the best Asian athlete by Asian athletics, which recognized its remarkable achievements on the continental scene.

Nadeem will go to England after this championship to start the preparations for the world athletics championships in September.
