Pakistan javelin star Arshad Nadeem again returned the proud nation by winning the gold medal in the Asian athletic athletics championships, finishing with a powerful 86.40 -meter throw in his last attempt.

Nadeem, which holds the Olympic record after a monstrous 92.97 -meter throw at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, delivered a performance just below the Asian championship record, which rises to 86.72 meters.

His coherent performance throughout the event, crowned by this remarkable throw, assured him first place in the podium.

Sachin Yadav from India obtained the silver medal with a better launch of 85.16 meters, while Yuta Sakiyama from Japan won bronze after reaching a brand of 83.75 meters.

The best Pakistani javelin launcher launched his campaign in the final of the Asian athletic championships with a first confident launch of 75.64 meters.

The Pakistani athlete Yasir Sultan, who is the second representative of the country in the final, began with a 70.53 meter throw, before improving considerably in his second attempt with an impressive 75.39 meters.

Arshad, on the other hand, has improved its brand with a second throw of 76.60 meters, now a stable momentum.

In the third round, Yasir has successfully improved, launching 75.50 meters. However, it was Arshad who has really raised the bar, launching a huge launch of 85.57 meters – the best of the competition so far. This powerful effort catappered him at the top of the group’s classification.

With this performance, Arshad Nadeem took the lead in the overall final classification after the third attempt, going beyond his closest rivals and established himself as the favorite of the gold medal.

Yasir’s fourth attempt fell to 72.92 meters, while Nadeem continued his consistency with another 83.99 meter throw. At the end of the fourth round, Nadeem remained firmly in first place.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the athlete for the splendid victory as he continues to make the nation proud.

The hometown of Nadeem, Mian Channu, broke out for celebrations while the news of his victory spreads – bringing tears of joy and cheers of proud supporters. His family distributed candies in the middle of the noise to beat the battery, marking the moment with jubilation.

Meanwhile, in the stadium, national song “Dil dil Pakistan” echo in the air while Nadeem celebrated his triumph by offering a sajda (prostration) at gratitude to Allah.

The Javelin Ace had obtained its place in the final with an impressive first launch of 86.34 meters in group A on Friday.

Nadeem has become the first Pakistanis in more than 50 years of winning a gold medal at the Asian athletic championships, marking the first gold in Pakistan since 1973, when the country has won the best honors in javelin and 800 meters respectively – won by Allah Dada and Muhammad Younis, respectively, during the event in the Philippines.

It is also the very first individual Olympic gold medalist in Pakistan and the country’s first medalist in athletics at the summer games.

So far, he has won four gold medals, money and four bronze medals in various events, including the Olympic Games, the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, South Asian Games and the Asian U20 championships.
