Pakistan Arshad Nadeem won the gold in the male javelin final at the 2025 Asian athletic championships on Saturday, recording an 86.40 meter throw in his last attempt.
The event, held in Gumi, South Korea, saw Nadeem ending in front of Sachin of India, which obtained second place.

Japan Yuta Sakiyama won bronze with an 83.75 -meter throw, while Sri Lanka Tharanga’s paththy, finished fourth with 83.27 meters.
The second participant of Pakistan, Muhammad Yasir, finished eighth, recording a better throw of 75.39 meters.
Nadeem kept the head throughout the final round with a series of solid throws. His third attempt was 85.57 meters, putting him before the competition.
He followed this with 83.99 meters on his fourth throw, remaining firmly in first place.
During her fifth and last attempt, Nadeem delivered her longest throw of the day, reaching 86.40 meters, guaranteeing the gold medal in Pakistan.

This victory followed his solid performance in the qualification round one day earlier, where he obtained a place in the final with an 86.34 meter throw in his first attempt. This effort marked him as a leading competitor before the final.
The Nadeem gold medal adds to its growing list of international achievements and strengthens its position as one of the best javelin launchers in Asia.
Last year in August, Nadeem entered history by winning the gold medal in the male final of the Javelin at the Paris Olympic Games, establishing a new Olympic record with a 92.97 meter throw.
Previously, Nadeem was named the best Asian athlete by Asian athletics, which recognized its remarkable achievements on the continental scene.
Nadeem will go to England after this championship to start the preparations for the world athletics championships in September.
