The New York Rangers striker Artemi Panarin and Madison Square Garden Sports, the company who owns the Rangers, paid financial colonies to a former team employee last year after a woman alleged that Panarin has sexually assaulted her, according to athletics.
The employee alleged that Panarin had sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in 2023, according to the report.
The agreement of the woman with Panarin and MSG Sports included a unsaid and no admission of reprehensible acts. The woman was not identified in the report and left the company following the agreements.

“The question has been resolved,” said the woman, according to The Athletic.
The alleged assault took place in December 2023, when the team was in road trip, according to the report. The woman was regularly part of the team’s travel party and was in a post-match gathering with players and staff.
Panarin, 33, would have taken the woman’s phone and said he would give her back the phone if she was going to get him from her hotel room. When she arrived in Panarin’s hotel room to collect her phone, he would have pinned her on the bed.
She would then have pushed him back, picked up her phone and left the room.

“The club has kept an external law firm to conduct an independent investigation, the league of which has been fully informed. We consider the question closed,” the NHL said in a statement via athletics.
“The case has been resolved,” said a spokesperson for MSG Sports in a statement at PK Press Club Digital.
NHL and Rangers refused to say if Panarin was subject to a discipline for alleged sexual assault, according to the report.
As the alleged sexual assault occurred, Panarin was in the middle of his best season with the Rangers after having signed with the team in 2019. During the 2023-2024 season, Panarin scored 49 goals and collected 120 points in career and played in the 82 games.
This season, Panarin scored 37 goals and 89 points in 79 games played. On Wednesday, the Rangers announced that it was the MVP of the team for the 2024-2025 season.

On Wednesday, Panarin also received the Good Guy prize by the media for its responsibility and its cooperation with the media.
The Rangers play the last game of their regular season Thursday against the Lightning of Tampa Bay at 7:00 p.m.. The Rangers did not qualify for the playoffs when they had trouble this season in 38-36-7.
Head coach Peter Laviolette spoke with journalists on Thursday morning and refused to say if Panarin would play against Lightning, according to the New York Post.
