Ashton Kutcher Reveals His Appearance Cost Him Acting Roles

Ashton Kutcher believes his appearance cost him acting roles.

The 47-year-old star explained that he missed out on projects because his leading man looks were deemed unsuitable for certain roles.

According to PEOPLE magazine, Ashton recently said at New York Comic Con: “I think every role you get is partly about how you look, right? It’s a very big part of what you imbue as a character. And so, there are roles that I’ve gotten because of the way I look and there are roles that I haven’t gotten because of the way I look.”

“Sometimes it’s frustrating.” The butterfly effect admitted the star.

However, Ashton explained that it wasn’t until he worked as a producer that he understood why managers made particular decisions when it came to casting movies and TV shows.

Without commitment The star said: “You’re trying to tell a story with images, and the images have to create a feeling in the audience.”

It is also pertinent to mention that in the upcoming FX series, Beauty, Ashton is set to play a “hilarious villain.”

“Without giving too much away, almost every one of us has an incredibly nuanced role in which, in one way or another, we play something that we are or are not at any given moment,” The Ranch mentioned.

“It creates this underlying ability to embody the insecurities that you may have, that you hide and push away, and you don’t let anyone in the world see it,” he added.

Ashton also explained that he thought his villain in the series was a “good guy” at heart.

He said: “I think he’s a good guy. I mean, you have to learn early on that you can never judge your character, because you have people who do things even if it’s unfair.”

“They think they are doing the right thing,” Ashton Kutcher concluded.
