Lahore:
The Punjab government has canceled the Ashura holidays of doctors, nursing care and paramedical employees, alerting all hospitals concerning special arrangements as part of the occasion.
Hospitals were invited to improve coordination with the rescue, police and district authorities to ensure an immediate response in an emergency. Hospitals have also been invited to make preparations to ensure the availability of space in neighborhoods in an emergency.
According to health service sources, hospital emergency services and trauma centers will remain on high alert and senior teachers will be available for service with staff. The availability of drugs will also be ensured during processions on two days.
Sources have indicated that instructions in this regard had been published by the major district hospitals, including major health establishments in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Gujrat and Narowal.
The provincial Minister of Health will visit the Mayo Hospital, the Services Hospital, the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and other health establishments along the main procession in Lahore. Surveillance teams will inspect arrangements and services in the province’s districts hospitals.
The Punjab government has asked doctors and nurses to perform their 24 -hour tasks on Muharram 9 and 10. Ambulance services and blood banks were also condemned to guarantee preparations to perform special tasks on two days.
The government has formed the surveillance committees to verify the provisions in hospitals, while ministerial measures will be taken against medical officials deemed absent from duty.
The health authorities have canceled the holidays of senior doctors, doctors, paramedical staff and nursing care as part of the provisions for the respect of Athura.
In addition to maintaining the operational services of their services, emergency and external consultations, the main hospitals will also install medical camps along the procession routes.
“We have issued an alert to all seats in the district and teaching hospitals and doctors and other staff members will be in service. Professors will also remain present in hospitals,” said the spokesperson for the Punjab Department of Punjab, Syed Hamad Raza.
