- Asus Expertbook P3 focuses on lasting reliability with long software updates and a completely robust chassis.
- Asus balances Ryzen AI’s performance with light panel options and a battery designed for a day work
- Five years of organic support and drivers make the expert P3 unusual among commercial laptops
Asus launched the series of P3 experts, available in 14 inch and 16 inch sizes, intended for professionals looking for a stable commercial laptop.
The company offers five years of organic and pilot updates alongside a one -year subscription to McAfee + Premium, a promise of unusually long software support in this segment.
This guarantee may seem attractive, in particular for IT managers, but questions remain on how these updates will be delivered during the lifespan of the devices.
Material designed for productivity and AI
The two models are fueled by AMD Ryzen AI processors, including pro variants, with up to 16 cores and the management of AI workloads at 50 peaks.
The Asus says that this means that tasks such as real -time legends, automated notes and the cancellation of AI noise work locally rather than counting on the cloud.
The new devices can be configured with up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2 TB of primary storage, with a secondary location allowing additional expansion.
The smaller 14 inch version offers a Wuxga or WQXGA panel with up to 400 brightness and a 144 Hz refresh rate, while the 16 -inch version reflects these options to a slightly higher screen / body ratio.
The two models include anti-glare coatings, which could be useful for outdoor meetings or shiny offices.
The chassis is fully metal, keyboards are resistant to spills and an optional backlight is available.
For connectivity, it has two USB-C ports, two USB-A, HDMI 2.1, LAN ports and a headphone jack, as well as Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 configurations associated with Bluetooth 5.4.
The 70WH battery is standard, and Asus says it should manage a full day of work, which would appeal to buyers looking for a laptop with a long battery life.
The P3 expert is certified MIL-STD-810H, which suggests a certain resilience against drops and shocks.
The safety features include TPM 2.0, a fingerprint sensor, a webcam shutter and a Kensington locking slit.
These devices are not the lightest laptops on the market, because the 14 -inch model weighs 1.355 kg while the 16 -inch model weighs 1.79 kg.
The specifications of P3 experts seem good on paper, but its success will be determined by its ability to offer coherent reliability in the use of the daily office.
