Asus has unveiled its latest addition to the ProArt range, the GeForce RTX 5080, equipped with features designed to attract creatives.
The ProArt RTX 5080 remains faithful to the minimalist design philosophy of Asus, but has a new twist: a sheet of “noble dark wood” on the side of the map.
This wooden pattern has sparked mixed reactions and is not doing well with many technology enthusiasts, but fortunately, it is optional, because several other models of the same GPU do not use this design.
GeForce RTX 5080 offers more than aesthetics
Perhaps more relevant than appearance is the exceptional technical functionality of the RTX 5080 proart: an integrated M.2 location for SSDS.
Asus has already tried this with the RTX 4060 TI, where the unused PCIe tracks allowed an SSD to operate without having an impact on the GPU performance. But this time, the implementation details remain troubled.
The RTX 5080 is connected via 16 PCIE tracks, raising a fundamental concern. “Is an SSD installed permanently” flying “from the graphics card tracks, reducing its memory flow?”
