At least 11 killed while the sudden floods sweep the Swat

The sudden floods triggered by strong SWAT precipitation cost the lives of at least 11 people, with several other missing.

The continuous disadvantage in the past two days has caused a significant increase in the flow of the Swat river, which has prompted local authorities to issue a high alert.

The rescue teams have so far recovered two bodies, and research operations are continuing in several places, including Fiza Gat, Bypass, Manyar and Khwazakhela. At the site of Fiza Gat, 10 tourists, including women and children, were swept away by flood waters and two bodies were recovered.

At the location of the bypass, 17 people drowned, with four bodies recovered and three others were saved alive.

In addition, the heavy rains caused the collapse of a house roof to Khwazakhela, causing the tragic death of a 7 -year -old girl, Zuneina.

Rescue operations in other areas affected by floods such as Ghaligai, Manyar and Panjigram have also been underway, several people saved from the rise in flood waters.

Meanwhile, in Mardan, 22 people were trapped in Imam Dheri by sudden floods but have since been saved safely.

Other rescue operations are underway in various parts of Swat, including Mettah, where 20 to 30 people were blocked due to the floods. All were safely evacuated.

The authorities continue to advise residents near the Swat river to evacuate, as the water levels remain dangerously high.

Despite rapidly evolving waters, the rescue teams remain dedicated to research and assistance to people affected by devastating floods.
