At least 30 injured at Saddar Fireworks Warehouse Blaze

At least one person died and 34 other people were injured after a fire broke out in a fireworks warehouse located near the Saddar parking lots along my Jinnah Road on Thursday.

All the injured were quickly transferred to neighboring hospitals. The hospital sources indicate that 14 of the injured were admitted to the civil hospital, while 20 were treated at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

Meanwhile, rescue managers recovered the charred body of a 16 -year -old Madrassa student, identified as Asad, from the site.

Addressing journalists, the victim’s uncle, Jamal Shah, said that ASAD, a PAUR resident Para, had come to visit his older brother during the holidays.

His brother, Afser Shah, who works in a surgical instrument shop near the explosion site, was also injured in the explosion and is currently being treatment.

Looking for an immediate investigation, the Minister of Sindh, the Minister of the Interior, Ziaul Hasal Lanjar, asked if the warehouse operated under a valid license. He instructed the police to help the rescue operation and collect injured statements in addition to collecting evidence on the site.

“All necessary measures must be taken to transfer the injured to neighboring hospitals,” he said, asking officials to submit a first report on the investigation and start investigating the fire.

Sindh -chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also noticed the fire that swallowed large quantities of fireworks stored on my Jinnah Road.

“Efforts must be made to control the fire as soon as possible,” directed the CM, while stressing that “each possible effort must be made to prevent any loss of life”.

Shah ordered the Karachi Commissioner to ensure that the injured received immediate medical care and stressed that no dangerous material was authorized for manufacturing in urban residential areas.

“Once the fire is checked, a detailed report must be presented to me,” said Shah.

The extinction operation was underway until the report is submitted.
