At least eight people were killed and 18 others injured when a private pet traveling from Rawalpindi in Lahore overturned near the Balkasar interchange on the M-2 motorway due to a burst of tires.
According to the highway police, the tire bursting to the left of the vehicle, which caused the driver to lose control. The bus overturned shortly after.
The rescue teams and the highway managers reached the premises immediately after the incident.
Rescue 1122 confirmed that the deceased and the injured had been transferred to the Hospital of the Chakwal district headquarters.
Minor injuries were processed on the spot by motorways police and emergency stakeholders.
Among the deceased was Habiba, 35, Haider Mohin, eight -month -old, an unidentified child of a one -year -old child, Umme Habiba Mohsin, 26, Khadija Khaliq, 26, Haram Khaliq, 45, Sardar Nadeem, and Munsha, 38.
Rescue operations were underway at the time of the report.
