Rawalpindi:
On Friday, a special special anti-terrorist (ATC) was convicted of 82 accused, involved in riots during the Pakistani demonstration of Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) in Islamabad on November 24 and 26, but ordered their release in triggering their period of pre-conjured detention against their sentence.
ATC special judge Amjad Ali Shah, abandoned the accusations of terrorism against the 82 convicted following their confession to crimes and discharged the 24 cases registered against them. However, the court published arrest mandates against more than 1,000 accused, which jumped the hearing.
The court had summoned a total of 1,609 accused in the 24 affairs of riots, vandalism, criminal fire, protest and road blocking in the D-CHOWK of the Federal capital on November 24 and 26, 2024 during the PTI demonstration. Among these cases, 15 were recorded in the district of Attock and nine in the Rawalpindi district.
A total of 568 accused appeared in court. At the start of the hearing, the accusation offered all the accused they admitted to the crimes, they were released after their detention was taken as a prison mandate.
On this 82, PTI workers accepted this offer and admitted. The judge condemned men, ordering that the time spent in prison by these workers is considered the sentence. They were also acquitted of terrorism. RS2,000 fines have each been inflicted against those involved in the police injury.
However, the workers who refused to admit were officially charged and the court summoned the witnesses against them. To avoid the rush in the courtroom, the court set for three days to hear on May 7, 8 and 9. Eight business would be heard every day.
For the other absent from more than 1,000 absent, the court canceled its surety and issued its arrest warrants. According to the law, their computerized national identity card was blocked and their bank accounts had been frozen.
SC deposit
Friday, the Supreme Court granted a pre-stopped deposit to the chief of the PTI Hafiz Farhat Abbas and approved the surety of the Senator of the Ejaz Chaudhry party, in cases related to violent protests on May 9, 2023.
A bench of three members led by Judge Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard business. On the advocacy of Abbas, the petitioner’s lawyer informed the Court that the release under the surety of the Co-accusation Imtiaz Sheikh had also been approved by the Apex Court.
The special prosecutor argued that the court of first instance said Abbas as a fugitive. However, the Afghan judge noted that the court concerned would examine the question of whether he was a fugitive or not, adding that when the investigation was finished, which was the need to stop the accused.
On the request of Senator Chaudhry, the court approved the deposit and the applicant’s order to submit a deposit of 100,000 rupees before the court of first instance. The court was informed that Chaudhry had been arrested since May 11, 2023 to encourage people and drawn up from the conspiracy.
