The president of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, urged India to return to the negotiating table, warning that the continuation of the avoidance of dialogue would only harm the regional peace and its own interests of India.

“All the outstanding problems between Pakistan and India can only be resolved by a complete dialogue,” he said. “If India does not come to the table, it will not be in their favor.”

Speaking in an interview with the German broadcaster DW Urdu during a visit to Brussels on Sunday, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs warned that any attempt by India to block the water supply of Pakistan would be considered an existential threat, leaving Pakistan without any option but the war.

Bilawal, who heads a parliamentary delegation in the West, also urged the international community one day earlier to bring India to the table for talks and play its role by guaranteeing lasting peace in South Asia – including the resolution of the long -standing dispute of cashmere, water and terrorism problems – by a composite dialogue, which, according to India.

“Such actions represent an existential threat to Pakistan, water is our rescue buoy and we will never give up our legitimate part under any circumstance,” he said.

He called on India’s threats to cut the water as a “clear violation of the United Nations Charter” and a “violation of the Industry Water Treaty”, calling it the “red line” of Pakistan. “If India uses the aggression of water, Pakistan will not end up with the choice that war,” he said.

The president of the PPP pointed out that even if Pakistan is not looking for war, he will not compromise his national or water security rights.

“Despite India’s participation to support terrorist activities in Pakistan, we have never recommended for war in response to terrorism,” he added.

Bilawal has reiterated that if Pakistan continues to defend peace, questions like water safety are not negotiable.

After the ceasefire with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Bilawal to lead a high-level delegation responsible for presenting the Pakistan for Peace ” on recent Indian aggression to the international community.
