- AWS Nova Forge offers a new way to incorporate AI models
- Customers can choose from a range of Amazon models
- Nova 2 also introduces a range of fundamental models to use
AWS has unveiled Nova Forge, a new service that will allow users to customize the company’s AI models exactly how they want.
Announced at AWS re:Invent 2025, the platform will allow customers to create frontier models by first selecting a starter model and checkpoint, before blending their data with Amazon-curated datasets, before deploying them to Bedrock.
The company also unveiled Amazon Nova 2 with four new base models, available in three tiers – ranging from everyday workloads to more complex jobs, as well as new human-like voice chat.

Available for $100,000 per year, Nova Forge will allow customers to create “Novellas” – personalized versions of AWS Nova templates.
These can be pre-training, mid-training or post-training models, with businesses then able to train on their own proprietary data, which is much less expensive than starting from scratch, which can cost millions of dollars and take up thousands of man hours.
“The more you customize the models, the more you add a bunch of data after training, those models tend to forget some of the interesting things they learned earlier in basic reasoning,” AWS CEO Matt Garman said in his keynote.
“It’s a bit like humans trying to learn a new language. When you start at a very young age, it’s actually relatively easy to master, but when you try, you learn a new language later in life, it’s actually much, much harder. Model training is a bit like that too.”
Nova was first announced in 2024 and Nova Forge is already used by several internal Amazon teams.
