Shusha, Azerbaijan: In a major breakthrough, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed a historic partnership agreement on Friday paving the way for an investment of $ 2 billion in Pakistan.

The agreement reflects the continuous flow of investment in Pakistan under the direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

In the presence of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Ishaq Dar and the Minister of Azerbaijani of the economy Mikayil Jabbarov signed the agreement for a total investment of $ 2 billion by Azerbaijan in the Pakistani economic sector. The Pakistani delegation was also present on this occasion.

The agreement was signed between the two countries following a cordial meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev in Khankandi.

The final and detailed agreement will be signed during the visit of President Azerbaijani in Pakistan.

The agreement has raised investments and trade relations between the two countries at a historic level. It should serve as a milestone for strengthening fraternal links and improving commercial partnerships.

Before the Prime Minister’s recent visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic mission of Pakistan, and the relevant delegations reached a consensus on various aspects of the agreement.

The two countries have also agreed new exchanges aimed at promoting cooperation in several sectors.

Addressing the media of Shusha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan had signed an investment agreement of $ 2 billion, adding that future investments would increase the multiple.

“We are grateful to the president of Azerbaijan to have invested in Pakistan,” he said.

He added that he had a productive and significant meeting with the president of Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister said that the member countries of the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) had agreed to improve trade in trade, investment, water resources and other sectors.

He also said that member countries also agreed to increase cooperation on the question of the melting of glaciers.
