The picturesque Babasar top connects the picturesque city of Naran in the Kaghan valley with chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan via the Babusar pass and remains closed during the winter due to strong snowfall and perfidable road conditions.
With the arrival of summer, the road has now been cleared, allowing a safe passage for travelers and adventurers heading for the northern areas.
Kaghan Development Authority officials confirmed that the National Highway Authority (NHA) had completed the customs clearance operation.
However, an official notification of the reopening of the road is still expected from the office of the deputy commissioner of Manshra. Despite this, traffic has started to flow and preparations are underway to ensure the safety and facilitation of tourists.
The authorities responsible for the application of laws began to set up security and to check the positions along the route to manage the expected overvoltage of visitors. Several checkpoints have already been established to the Besal region, providing travelers surveillance and assistance. The resumption of traffic on Babusar Top should benefit considerably from the local tourism economy.
According to the hotel association, there has been a notable increase in the number of tourists from various parts of the country, hundreds of visitors now arriving in Naran daily.
Hotels, restaurants and tour operators report a strong increase in reservations and activity, reporting a strong start to the summer tourism season.
Local stakeholders, including hoteliers and tourist guides, have praised the reopening and hope for a prosperous season, provided that the authorities continue to ensure road safety and timely communication concerning weather conditions and travel advice.
While the panoramic road again opens up breathtaking views and adventure opportunities, Babusar Top is about to recover its status as a first destination for nature lovers and strong sensations of all of Pakistan and beyond.
