- Some global retailers have confirmed the timed PDSF of RX 9070
- It is said that only the first batch of selected models will be available for $ 549
- Once sold, the new prices could correspond (or narrow) that of the RX 9070 XT
It is the launching day of the RDNA 4 graphics cards from AMD, with the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT now available on store shelves. However, as some online retailers have already mentioned it, the respective PDSF of the old ($ 549) can only apply to the initial lot of the GPU sold, with future supply by seeing a potential prices increase.
As Videocardz pointed out, it is alleged that the RX 9070 will only be sold to its PDSF of $ 549 for a limited period, because the AMD partners will be able to set their prices. The Swedish retailer Inet.se informed the outlet that the PDSF would only be respected for the first execution, because the company testifies with its sale of PowerColor Reaper variants, because the prices of a second shipment would already be higher.
The retailer explained how his courses on AMD RX 9070 shares will depend on the manufacturer dispatched the different cards, describing this with “Sapphire and Asus, it will be just usual” because you can buy the GPUs to the PDSF until they are exhausted. However, he also said he will be different with PowerColor. “Our second PowerColor expedition is already waiting, and we cannot do it at the prices of the PDSF”.
To clarify, he indicates that he will sell the first series of PowerColor Reaper RX 9070 cards that he has in stock until they are exhausted, then increase the prices when he fills the orders for the second lot. “If you receive an order with the price of the PDSF, even if the cards are exhausted, we will of course give you this price, but unfortunately, we have no way of continuing to sell cards to the PDSF after the first deliveries are sold”.
This is a problem that also seems to have an impact on potential buyers in the United Kingdom. Andrew Gibson, purchasing director for UK overclockers, spoke of the limited amount of RX 9070 stock at the pdsf of the retailer. He explained that the retailer had around 5,000 cards in total of Sapphire (2,000), PowerColor (1,000) and Asrock (1,000), but that “the PDSF is capped at a few hundred, so that prices will jump once these are sold”.
It is believed that only four different variants of the AMD RX 9070 will be available for its PDSF price: The PowerColor Reaper, Sapphire Pulse, Asus Prime and XFX Swift, at least for the initial shipping window, as indicated in Sweden and the United Kingdom. There is a possibility that things can be extended to the United States; However, there is also no guarantee that the prices you will see today (and in the coming days) will be as low as what could happen shortly if you do not rely on relaxation.
A key in progress for the budgetary interpreter of DNA
Earlier in the day, we congratulated the fact that many retailers were (apparently) rinsing with options for stock RX 9070 XT on launching day, which we cannot say for the lamentable state of the NVIDIA RTX 50 series on the other hand. However, although availability does not seem to be spoiled in the same way, the fact that the aggressive starting price of $ 549 seems so ephemeral is disappointing, given the overall value proposal.
In the current state of things, the RX 9070 is only $ 50 cheaper than the flagship model of DNA 4 (current), the RX 9070 XT, which is available for $ 599. However, if you are unable to secure a non-TXT model for its recommended retail price, the overall point of the card in front of his brother seems to be objected in comparison. While stocks fly shelves (many PDSF models mentioned above are no longer available), you are invited to pay an additional cost to get one, which is far from ideal.
As such, what is the interest of the RX 9070 if you have to spend the same money (or more) as buying the RX 9070 XT instead? The latter seems more available with retailers such as Best Buy, Newegg, B&H and Micro Center with comparison stocks. To try to avoid disappointment, we recommend that you follow our RX 9070 and RX 9070 storage stocks dedicated regularly updated.
