- The NVIDIA RTX 5090 supply seems very fragile according to a British retailer
- Overclockers has the worst case of ETA of 16 weeks for the RTX 5090 stock
- The RTX 5080 is better, but could still take up to six weeks before it is available again
The situation of NVIDIA RTX 5090 stocks is rather disastrous, at the very least, and could remain longer than you expect – and the RTX 5080 also looks like stocks.
As you probably make yourself realized if you have thought about the purchase of one of the new Blackwell graphics cards, the RTX 5090 and 5080 are out of stock everywhere (except on the auction sites where the scalpers whip their GPUs Poorly acquired at prices requested massively inflated, of course).
According to a large component retailer in the United Kingdom, overclockers (OCUK), RTX 5090 and 5080 actions are exhausted and (not surprisingly) pre-orders are no longer offered, and they will only be when the company ” Clarity on availability and fulfilled the pre -orders we have taken. »»
Update of the actions of the RTX series 50 31/01/2025stock Updatertx 5090 SAVED and pre-orders stopped from 5080 ceased and the pre-orders ceased to an incredibly high request and to a limited stock, all the cards in the 50 series Sold shortly after the launch with pre -orders taken restricted quantities.…January 31, 2025
Ocuk told us by the OCUK (in the post above on X) that ETA for the Stock of RTX 5090 is three to 16 weeks, and ETA for RTX 5080 is two to six weeks, A little more pleasant to taste, but always potentially long waiting.
Note that the pre-orders that have been successfully placed with Ocuk (but not yet sent) are in a queue, and the retailer “works with our supply chain to make them in the ETAs above, or earlier if possible”.
Analysis: another launch of the GPU struck with the misery of stocks
Certainly, a little stock of these RTX 5000 GPUs will arrive in February? This must be the case (I suppose), but the way in which the above instruction is written, which seems to me to be the small amount of Blackwell graphics cards which will manage to make existing pre-orders. So there will be no stock available to buy on the Ocuk site for a while – perhaps towards the longest end of the ETAS provided.
The fact that the RTX 5090 is pushed to 16 possible weeks which exceeds the most pessimistic thoughts I had, however. This would put us at the end of May before the “Buy” button lights up again on some of the flagship models of Blackwell, a prospect of raising the eyebrows.
Perhaps more disappointing, this is the news that this retailer will not have a stock of the RTX 5080, a niche proposal much less than the RTX 5090, for perhaps up to six weeks. This put us in mid-March before the graphics card was again available (perhaps only briefly).
We should not take away with the deadlines of a single retailer, of course, and the worst scenarios presented by Ocuk – but that of course reflects everything we see at the moment. And the general accusation of a “paper launch” being leveled in Nvidia, which means a launch without real quantity of stock behind it (faced with a major demand).
Unless we get a quick recovery for the RTX 5080 stock which takes place against the expectations of the Ocuk – we do not expect the RTX 5090 to be back on the shelves quickly, especially since His Blackwell chip (GB202) is more profitable in the graphics of the cards, not play products – a lot of hope lies in the new RTX 5070.
Nvidia’s Vanilla RTX 5070 version uses a different GB205 chip – the RTX 5070 Ti is built with GB203 (a rumor that is now confirmed), also the engine of RTX 5080 – and we can therefore hope that Nvidia has more depth at its GB205 GB205 production, especially since RTX 5070 arrives a little later. (If rumors are right, perhaps at the end of February – there is even a delay for March, which would not be a positive development, of course).
Overall, however, the situation seems distinctly Roche Take the NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics cards. This is a clear opportunity for Team Red in the mid -range support of the GPU market, although AMD had its own missteps with the launch of the RNA 4, it must be said.
Those who are looking for an NVIDIA Blackwell graphics card should keep an eye on our guides on the place where to buy an RTX 5090 and an RTX 5080 respectively, where we will keep you posted if we locate stocks by returning to large retailers. Good luck, GPU hunters, but for the moment, the prospects are really dark.
