President Trump on Saturday threatened Afghanistan if he does not make control of the Bagram air base in the United States.

“If Afghanistan does not make Bagram air base to those who have built it, the United States of America, bad things will happen,” said Trump in a social article of truth.

Trump said on Thursday that the United States had sought to regain control of the base used by US forces following the attacks of September 11, 2001. He told journalists on Friday that it spoke of it with Afghanistan.

The withdrawal of American forces in 2021 led to a control of the base by the Taliban movement.

Afghan officials expressed their opposition to a relaunched American presence.

“Afghanistan and the United States must engage with each other … without the United States maintaining no military presence in part of Afghanistan,” said Zakir Jalal, an official of the Afghan AFGHAN ministry.
