While the country’s policy takes on new twists and turns, the president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, resigned Thursday from four permanent committees of the National Assembly in accordance with the instructions of the party founder, Imran Khan.

The president of the PTI left four key committees in the lower room of the Parliament. He has sat on the committees for law and justice, human rights, information technology and the Chamber’s Commercial Council.

At least 18 PTI legislators, including lawyer Gohar, have so far resigned from Na organizations.

This decision is part of the political strategy of the former ruling party, which also includes the boycott of the upcoming period elections planned for the coming months.

PTI legislators began to leave the year’s committees after the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) in July and August disqualified a large number of PTI leaders about their alleged involvement in the riots of May 9, 2023.

In addition to the Gohar lawyer, the legislative PTI Faisal Amin Gandapur – brother of the chief of KP, Ali Amin Gandapur – Shahaharyar Afridi, Junaid Akbar Khan, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Amir Dogar and others have dismissed his resignations from Na bodies.

The MNA Ali Asghar, Sajid Khan, Shahid Khattak, Faisal and Asif Khan yesterday submitted their resignation from various year committees.

Asghar left the cabinet, privatization and planning committees, while Sajid Khan has resigned from committees abroad, to the national heritage and linked to the cashmere, declaring that he would even cancel his seat of the assembly if he was educated by Khan.

Faisal has left economic affairs, food security and parliamentary committees of the working group.

Khattak announced that he was withdrawing from all permanent committees, while Asif has resigned from education, national, culture and information and radio committees.

In addition, Junaid has renounced his post as chairman of the public accounts committee, submitting his resignation to the party whip of the party, Dogar, in accordance with the PTI political committee directive. Party sources have confirmed that the president of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, received the resignations of Faisal and Ali.

PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas also resigned from all standard Na committees. He sent his resignation to the president of Na Sadiq one day earlier.

Meanwhile, Imran also asked the PTI leaders to leave the judicial commission, which calls for the party’s participation in it as ineffective, sources said.

The lawyer Gohar and Senator Ali Zafar are part of the commission.

The PTI had also announced that it would boycott the next partial elections in the constituencies of the members of the disqualified party in the affairs of May 9, declaring these individuals its “real representatives”.

Several constituencies are to be won, because the ECP recently disqualified several legislators belonging to the PTI following their convictions in cases related to the riots of May 9.

Allies to power – Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML -N) and Pakistan People Party (PPP) – had announced that they would jointly dispute the country’s next partial elections.
