Barrister Gohar Hands in 18 members of PTI members of Na Committees

Islamabad:

In accordance with the Directive of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), the Directive of the Imran Khan founder, the party legislators began to resign from the permanent committees of the National Assembly. The president of the PTI, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, submitted on Wednesday 18 resignations to the office of the NA speaker.

Those who have left the presidents and memberships to various committees include Junaid Akbar, Sahibzada Saifullah, Mahboob Shah, Shahzada Gustasab, Ali Jadoon, Mujahid Ali, Malik Anwar Taj, Fazal Muhammad Khan, Sajid Khan, Arbab Amir Ayub, Asif Khan, Sheich Waqu Akram, Arshad Sahi, Malik Amir Dogar, Shabbir Ali Qureshi and Awais Jhakkar.

The lawyer Gohar himself has resigned from four committees – law and justice, human rights, information technologies and advisory committee for chamber affairs.

Later, Shehryar Afridi, Mobeen Arif Jatt, Usama Maila and the head of the PTI Sher Afzal Marwat also resigned to the president of the party.

Taking to X, Malik Amir Dogar wrote: “I resign from this from the permanent committees of the National Assembly in accordance with the directive of my Imran Khan chief.”

He added that he was a real Soldier of Imran Khan, and no position made him more sense than his leader. “The only goal of my policy is to pursue the mission of Imran Khan, the true independence of Pakistan and the service of the people,” said Dogar.

It is relevant to mention that Imran Khan had asked the PTI legislators to leave the NA committees after the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) disqualified several party leaders following their conviction in the affairs of the May 9 riots.

One day earlier, the president of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the National Assembly, Junaid Akbar, resigned. PTI secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, also resigned from the CAP and the Information Committee. “Following the instructions of our Imran Khan chief, I submitted my resignation this morning to the public accounts committee and the information committee,” he said on X.
