Islamabad:
The Lahore High Court Bar Association and the Lahore Bar Association challenged the verdict of the seniority affair of the judges before the Supreme Court.
The two associations filed separate intra-covers against the decision of the Supreme Court. They asked the high -level court to declare the bench of five members of the zero and non -avenue status. They also asked the court to make the decision and the measures taken following the pending judgment.
Meanwhile, the judge of the High Court of Islamabad, Mohin Akhtar Kiyani, decided to challenge the seniority of the chief of the IHC, Sarfraz Dogar.
The sources have said that the legal consultation is underway to contest the president’s decision to declare judge Dogar as the IHC principal judge and judge Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani as a senior judge. It is relevant to mention that a five -members bench declared the transfer of judge Dogar to the IHC Constitution. The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court had returned the question of seniority to the president.
Five IHC judges have already filed an intra-short appeal against the decision.
