The Atlanta Braves defeat sequence reached five games on Friday.

But a large part of the discussion after the 5-4 victory of the Giants of San Francisco focused on a bizarre moment in the fourth round.

A fan seated in the stands of Oracle Park launched a ball towards the marble almost at the same time, the first basic player of the Braves, Matt Olson, marked a race.

Olson turned the third goal and returned home after his teammate Sean Murphy hit a fly ball to the outside field. The second ball landed near the marble almost immediately after the launch of the Giants defender, Mike Yastrzemski, made his way in the receiver Patrick Bailey.

Additional baseball seemed to leave Bailey, Olson and others in a brief state of confusion.

“Where does the other ball come from?” asked for a giant diffuser.

“(IT) was released on the upper deck,” replied his broadcast partner. “A clown threw baseball in the field. I have never seen it.”

The referees of the game have briefly summoned to discuss the strange sequence. The match finally resumed and the Olson race reduced the giants’ advance to 3-1.

The manager of the Giants, Bob Melvin, addressed the incident after the match.

“It’s a first,” said Melvin. “I have never seen that before. I don’t know where it comes from. I don’t know what the rule is. I think everyone was a little surprised. It didn’t affect the game, but it was extremely strange to see another baseball showing up on the field.”

The Braves abandoned a sixth consecutive match on Saturday afternoon after the Giants hit a two-round circuit in ninth round for a 3-2 victory.
