- Battlefield 6 will not include the tracing of the shelves, and it is not planned to add it to the future
- This was confirmed by the studio technical director at Ripple Effect
- He said that the team “wanted to focus on performance” above all
I have good news if you are concerned about the performance of the next Battlefield 6 On PC or console. A developer has confirmed that smooth image frequencies is a goal and that the game will not have any tracing of rays.
In a recent interview with Comicbook, the technical director of Ripple Effect Studio, Christian Buhl, said undoubtedly: “No, we will not have tracing of the shelves either when the game is launched and we have no plan in the near future either.”
“We wanted to focus on performance,” he added, highlighting the need to play a game that works well for those who on “default parameters and default users”.
“We have just made the relatively early decision that we were not going to make the layout of the shelves,” he reiterated.
The tracing of the rays is a rendering technique which can simulate realistic light rays, improving the appearance of shadows, the thinking and general lighting of a game. However, it is often done at the expense of performance, putting strong pressure on the resources of the system, causing reduction in image frequency or drumsters.
The idea that Battlefield 6 will not use technology is certainly promising. After all, in an online shooter, you generally do not stop in the middle of a hectic match to dip in the images.
Hopefully decisions like this will allow everyone to have transparent experience when Battlefield 6 Launched October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S and PC.
