- The executive vice-president of the EA, Vince Zampella, confirmed that Battlefield 6 will not work on the steam bridge
- He says that there are other “manual uncoupped bridge platforms on which he will work”
- There is no current plan to bring the game to Nintendo Switch 2
EA confirmed that Battlefield 6 Will not work on the Steam deck, but that there are other pocket computers on which the game will work.
It is according to the executive vice-president of the EA, Vince Zampella, who checked the lack of support for Steam Deck in an interview with PCGAMESN at Battlefield 6 The multiplayer revelation event, when asked for the game that is potentially working on PC game pocket computers such as the Valve console or the Asus Rog Ally.
“It doesn’t work on Steam Deck,” said Zampella. “I think there are portable uncoupped deck portable platforms on which it will work, probably, right? But I don’t think, you know, it’s probably not the best way to play the game.”
Although the executive has not offered a reason why the next first-person shooter will not work on the Steam deck, this is probably due to EA anti-triche software, which is incompatible with Linux.
In terms of Nintendo Switch 2, Zampella also confirmed that EA had no current plan to bring Battlefield 6 to the last console.
“We are not yet making a change,” he said. “Well, I’m not saying we are. I just say that we don’t consider it at the moment.”
During the multiplayer revelation event, it was announced that Battlefield 6 will be launched on October 10, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
There will also be a period of early access from August 7 to 8, followed by open beta from August 9 to 10, then from August 14 to 17.
