Bee Maps increases $ 32 million to scale the decentralized cartography network fed by Solana

Bee Maps, the decentralized cartography project powered by Hivemapper, raised $ 32 million in funding to extend its global network of contributors and put its infrastructure on Monday.

The Tour was led by Pantera Capital, LDA Capital, Borderless Capital and AJNA Capital, marking one of the greatest funding in the decentralized physical infrastructure sector (backdrop) this year.

Bee Maps is an application on the Hivemapper network, which is one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks (purple) focused on data mapping on Solana.

Hivemapper allows drivers to contribute data via compatible AI compatible dashboard cams, which detect changes in real time on the roads (such as new panels on roads, detours or construction zones), ensuring that digital cards can be updated quickly to stay precise. Bee cards use this infrastructure by rewarding contributors with its native token, $ honey, to collect images at the street level.

The increase highlights a strong appetite for investors for the vision of bee cards on real cards fueled in real time. In recent months, Bee Maps has teamed up with major players, including the Robotaxi program by Lyft and Volkswagen to provide its mapping data on their platforms.

Fresh capital will be used to distribute more devices, improve AI models that process and update the functionality of the cards and stimulate the incentives of contributors linked to $ honey.

“With this funding, we speed up the global deployments of devices, expanding the coverage and strengthening our IA pipeline. The demand is not the problem – the supply is,” said Ariel Seidman, co -founder of Hivemapper, in a press release shared with Coindesk.

Bee Maps also deploys a bee membership plan, reducing initial costs from nearly $ 600 to only $ 19 per month. The subscription is full of hardware, software and contributors in a single package, reducing the barrier so that the new participants join the network.
