SAQIB and Mayor Adams displayed a symbolic program of the digital unit during a meeting on Friday with a discussion held at the official residence of the old, Gracie Mansion.
During this meeting, the Minister suggested that Pakistan Crypto Council is willing to work with New York to work on cryptographic regulations and innovation, while the two governments increase efforts to shape the future of Web3.
He also invited the mayor of New York to visit Pakistan to which Adams joked: “We consider New York as Lahore”.
New York and Pakistan have each launched advice dedicated to cryptography to promote responsible growth in the digital asset sector. The meeting marked a step towards the direct collaboration between the two advice, with plans to develop initiatives for sharing knowledge, capacity building and politicians.
Discussions have also discussed shared regulatory challenges and the need for inclusive digital infrastructure in emerging and developed economies.
The meeting coincided with the greetings of the Eid of Mayor Adams for the Muslim communities. With more than 800,000 Muslim residents, New York is home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States. The meeting was both a cultural gesture and a nod to the ambitions shared in the evolution of the world technological landscape.
SAQIB’s visit to Gracie Mansion concluded its official American tour, which focused on blockchain innovation, public-private partnerships and cooperation in international cryptography.
During his one-week visit to the United States, the state minister had discussions with senator Cynthia Lummis, co-author of Major Crypto legislation in the United States, as well as senators Bill Hagerty, Rick Scott, Tim Sheehy and Jim Justice-many of which support Bitcoin designation as a strategic reserve asset.
Meetings also took place with Troy Downing representatives, Ryan Zinke, Rick McCormick and Derrick Van Orden, all involved in the development of digital asset policy. Saqib was in the United States to participate in the Bitcoin 2025 conference, held in Las Vegas, where he unveiled the very first Bitcoin strategic reserve in the country.
