Pakistan’s Party Party President (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, said on Thursday that he had fought the case for the distribution of equitable waters worldwide and urged the international community to help protect the Industry river, reported Express News.
Addressing a public rally in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on Friday, Bilawal said: “I took the battle on the distribution of water on the world scene. I told the world that we have to save our industrial river.”
He added that the question of the flight of water by India was constantly raised during his mandate as Minister of Foreign Affairs. “India continues to steal our water and I took up this challenge internationally,” he said.
Thinking about the legacy of the party, Bilawal said: “We are all the flag carriers of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and we met here to pay tribute to him. President Asif Ali Zardari fulfilled his duty by pursuing a presidential reference which finally did justice to Sheheed Bhutto. ”
He added that after five decades of struggle, the popular court said Bhutto innocent and justice prevailed.
Stressing the achievements of the PPP during the Presidency of Zardari, Bilawal said that the restoration of the 1973 Constitution through the 18th amendment reinstated the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. “Thanks to this amendment, Zardari rendered the rights to the provinces and honored the heritage of the Quaid-Ewam,” he said.
He also noted that Bhutto had received Nishan-E-Pakistan for his incessant struggle for working class rights.
By approaching the need for judicial reforms, the president of the PPP declared that the constitutional courts would ensure an equal representation and that the political situation of the country had reached a critical point. He reiterated that the PPP has always raised his voice against terrorism and will continue to do so.
