Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday praised the leadership and policy direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, particularly in guiding the country through a complex and uncertain regional environment amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The meeting came a day after the prime minister publicly offered Pakistan as a venue for U.S.-Iran peace talks, an offer that received extraordinary momentum when President Donald Trump reposted it on his Truth Social platform, a move widely seen in Islamabad as Washington’s tacit endorsement of Pakistan’s emerging role as mediator.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office today, Prime Minister Shehbaz met with Bilawal and his delegation, during which the Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s active diplomatic efforts towards world peace.
Bilawal also expressed support for the government’s approach to addressing potential risks arising from the ongoing conflict scenario.
