Black day observed in Ajk

Islamabad:

Friday, the Kashmiris on both sides of the control line (LOC) marked the 78th day of the independence of India as a black day, organizing demonstrations and gatherings to denounce the forced and illegal occupation of New Delhi of Jammu and Kashmir.

Coordinated respect – called by the All Party Hurriyat conference (APHC) and approved by pro -heberge groups – unfolded under radical restrictions in Iiojk and in the context of increased tensions between India and Pakistan.

Srinagar reports have described an unprecedented security presence, with strongly armed troops patrolling the streets, management control points and key intersections.

The authorities, fearing large -scale demonstrations in support of Pakistan and against Indian domination, imposed movement restrictions and intensified surveillance. The whole city looks like a fortress. Even small rallies are dispersed, said the media.

According to APHC leaders, distribution is part of a long -standing strategy to “repress peaceful political dissent” in the region.

“The dark day is a reminder in the world that the dispute from cashmere does not remain resolved and that our request for self-determination is not negotiable,” said a spokesperson for APHC in a statement.

Respect extended far beyond the valley. In cities such as London, Brussels, Washington DC and Toronto, the communities of the Kashmir diaspora and their supporters organized gatherings carrying flags, signs and black banners calling for an end to Indian occupation.

The demonstrators said that the demonstrations aimed to break the international silence on human rights violations at IIOJK and to put pressure on a supervised plebiscite of the United Nations.

Pakistan’s political leadership also marked the day with statements reaffirming solidarity with the cashmere people. The annual observation of the dark day dates back to October 27, 1947-The day the Indian troops entered the old princely state of Jammu-Jammu-et-Cachemire following its illegal accession to India.
