Blast in the Rakhni region of Barkhan kills one, hurts ten

Quetta:

A powerful explosion crossed the Rakhni region of the Balutchistan district district on Monday, killing a person and injuring at least ten other people in what the authorities suspect an act of targeted terrorism. The explosion occurred in a overcrowded section of the local market, causing panic among sellers and buyers.

According to officials, the deceased was identified as a resident of Sakhi Sarwar, Punjab. The explosion has caused numerous damage to nearby stores and vehicles, sending steering wheel debris and forcing the frightened spectators to flee to hide.

Emergency speakers and law enforcement agencies quickly reached the premises, closing the region and launching rescue operations. The injured were precipitated in neighboring hospitals, where medical staff described the state of several victims as criticism. Health authorities have placed medical facilities in the region on high alert.

The security forces launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Experts in the elimination of bombs and units to combat terrorism analyze the explosion site to determine the type of explosive used and if specific individuals or infrastructure have been targeted.

Although no group has claimed responsibility so far, the first intelligence reports suggest that the attack may have been orchestrated by militant elements seeking to destabilize the region. The incident marks another dark recall of the fragile security situation in parts of Balutchistan.

Political leaders and representatives of civil society have condemned the attack, urging the government to strengthen the efforts to combat terrorism and to improve the protection of civilians in vulnerable districts. As investigations continue, security has been tightened in the district, with additional patrols and control points established to dissuade new violence.
