An explosion occurred in the Darul Uloom Haqqania mosque in the Akora Khattak region in the distribution of Nowshera in the province of Khayber-Pakhunkhwa, causing significant damage and would have injured several people.
Maulana Hamidul Haqqani, son of the chief of the Jamiat Elema-E-Islam (JUI-S) killed Maulana Samiul Haqqani, was seriously injured in the attack, according to local media.
Haqqani offered prayers on Friday at the forefront when the explosion occurred.
DPO NOWSHERA, Abdul Rashid, said that the rescue teams arrived at the scene.
Security sources believe that the attack may have been led by a suicide bomber.
