Quetta:
The BNP demanded the immediate release of the women Balouthes detained while it occurred to continue its protests until its requests were accepted.
Addressing a rally in Quetta on Friday, the president of the BNP, Akhtar Mengal, said that the Baloutche people had suffered 75 years of injustice, declaring that the party would not back down as long as their legitimate requests were recognized and addressed.
“Prisons are not new to us. We will not back down,” said Mengal.
He criticized the government for arresting the long march of the BNP in Lak Pass, Mastung and his intervention by the party to penetrate Quetta.
The BNP-M rally attracted a large crowd of supporters acting as a flag, singing in favor of the rights of Baloutch and reaffirming their commitment to pursuing the demonstrations nationwide.
The public gathering came in the heels of a series of events requiring the recovery of missing persons.
Strict security arrangements have been put in place throughout the city, with a strong police presence. Despite a tense atmosphere, the event remained peaceful and ended without incident.
