Before the Louisville Cardinals celebrated with a bowl of beans, chaos erupted at Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl.
The Cardinals led Toledo 27-22 and wanted to run out the clock to preserve the victory.
Issac Brown took a handoff to the right sideline for six yards before being tackled by Toledo’s K’Von Sherman.

Sherman, however, took the kick a little too far, pushing Brown to the turf well beyond the sideline and near his own bench.
Many Cardinals players took offense and a big commotion began. At least one player on crutches and another who appeared to be limping while nursing a previous injury tried to avoid the melee.
Lots of pushing and shoving started amid a pile of dogs on the Louisville sideline.
Ultimately, there were no expulsions, but four total unsportsmanlike conduct penalties were issued.

Louisville got the first down needed to secure the victory. It was the team’s second straight victory after winning the Sun Bowl against Washington last year.
Miller Moss closed out his college career by throwing for 153 yards and two touchdowns, while Brown scored twice, including a 53-yarder in the final minutes.
After the dust settled, actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key was on the field stirring the bowl and preparing it for the Louisville players. Louisville defensive lineman Clev Lubin approached and asked if the baked beans were theirs, and after receiving confirmation, he dove.
Toledo’s final touchdown came with about 2½ minutes left, and Louisville slammed the door on the fourth-quarter comeback running out the clock to win the game.

“Proud of our team,” Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm said. “We finished strong. We didn’t play perfect, but we played hard, we played hard, we played until the end.”
