Newly released body camera footage showed the immediate aftermath of Tiger Woods’ car crash in Florida last week, which resulted in the golf legend’s shocking arrest for drunk driving.
Woods was involved in a two-vehicle accident in which his car rolled onto its driver’s side, forcing him to escape through the passenger door.
In the video, Woods, on his knees, told a police officer that he was looking “at my phone, and all of a sudden, boom.”

The officer then appeared to pat Woods on the back before telling Woods that a doctor would “check you out.” The officer said he “didn’t feel anything” behind Woods’ back. The officer then spoke to a passerby who said Woods “hit the trailer.” The officer then went to the struck driver, who told him he was fine.
“I was getting ready to turn,” the other driver said. “And he was coming fast. I don’t think he was looking, is that.”
The driver said Woods hit the trailer attached to the back of his vehicle. The officer then ordered cars traveling on the road to turn around as they were preparing to close the road.
Woods was arrested for driving under the influence after police said he showed signs of intoxication. Woods blew “triple zeros” on a breathalyzer, but two hydrocodone pills were found in his pocket.

The 15-time major champion announced earlier this week that he would “seek treatment” following the accident.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am taking some time off to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery,” Woods said in a statement posted on social media Tuesday. “I am committed to taking the time necessary to return to a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and I ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
Woods has pleaded not guilty to DUI. He was also charged with property damage and refusal to submit to an examination.

The accident came just days after Woods made his return to some aspects of competitive golf after rupturing his Achilles tendon last year while playing in the TGL final on Monday. The accident happened 13 days before the Masters, which Woods will now officially miss. It was not yet known whether he would play before the accident.
