- He will be succeeded for a long time
- Nintendo Managing Director and Entreprise Director Satoru Shibata will also join Nintendo of America as CEO
The president and chief of the Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser, will retire at the end of the year after more than a decade of business management positions.
Bowser, who became president in 2019, will leave on December 31, 2025. Under his direction, the company launched the successful system Nintendo Switch 2 and has extended to many entertainment companies, including films and themed parks.
“One of my first video game experiences was to play the Arcade version of Donkey Kong,” said Bowser as regards his departure.
“Since then, everything that Nintendo has continued to be a passion for me and my family. The leader of Nintendo of America was the honor of a life, and I am proud of what our team has accomplished in the commercial results and the experiences that we have created for consumers. ”
Bowser will be succeeded by the director of the Veteran Nintendo of America Devon Prhard.
“Now it’s time for the next generation of leadership and the history of Devon are talking about itself,” said Bowser.
“It is an exceptional leader, and its promotion testifies to its strong performances and its strategic contributions to the growth of the company. I have fully confidence that it will guide the company to even higher peaks. ”
Satoru Shibata, Nintendo Managing Officer and business director, will also join Nintendo of America as managing director while containing its other roles.
