- The Brewer Breville is a new premium drip coffee maker
- It has a removable water tank and customizable brewing profiles
- It is available with an isolated carafe in glass or stainless steel
Breville, manufacturer of some of the best coffee makers that we have tested here in Techradar, has launched a new drop -down coffee machine that helps you get more flavor of your grains and avoid one of the most common traps when making filter coffee: water spills.
Even the best drip coffee makers tend to have an integrated water tank, so you must fill it using the carafe (risk of spill) and you cannot easily see how clean it is, whether it is necessary to shift or the amount of water inside.
This is not the case with the new Breville Luxe Brewer, which has a 12 cup water tank with integrated filter which simply raises the base, and has an extra-high top for an easy garnish.
Like the Aiden Precision coffee maker that I recently examined, the Breville Luxe Brewer can make the mixing as simple or technical as you wish. You can start preparing a coffee pan with a single button press or being technical by customizing the volume of flowering (the quantity of hot water distributed to pre-infuse your coffee land before preparing), the flowering time (how long this water is allowed to sit on the coffee ground), the brewing temperature and the flow. Once you have found your favorite settings, you can save them as a preset for the next time.
The other features include a programmable timer so that you can wake up for a freshly infused coffee in the morning, a cold setting that promises to make filtering coffee to melee in just 30 minutes and a hot plate to keep your infusion warm up to six hours.
Hot stuff
Opinions on hot plates vary. Personally, I find them practical and I do not find that they affect the taste of my drinks too much, but if you do not agree, you will be happy to know that it is not the only way to keep your coffee at the right temperature. Like its predecessor, the Breville Precision Brewer, the Breville Luxe Brewer is available in two versions: one with a glass carafe and one with a double -walled jug isolated to keep your coffee hot for four hours.
The machine is supplied with two filter baskets – in the shape of a cone and one with flat bottom – which are intended to help your coffee infuse in different ways, bringing out of the profiles of subtly different flavors.
According to research from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and partners, the cone should create more fruitful notes, while the flat bottom basket brings out milder chocolate and floral flavors.
The Brewer Breville Luxury is on sale now and costs $ 319.95 (around £ 240 / $ 500 in) with a glass carafe, or $ 349.95 (around £ 260 / $ 550 in) with a thermal pitcher.
The new brewer is not yet available outside the United States, but we will keep you informed of international dates and launch prices when they are announced, and hope to bring you a complete examination very soon.
