The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2025, more than 300,000 men will receive a diagnosis of prostate cancer and more than 35,000 will die from the disease.
The longtime baseball diffuser Ed Randall is a survivor of prostate cancer.
“I was 47 when I went to the doctor for my annual physical routine.
Ed realized that other men could be in the same situation in which he was.
Thus, in 2003, he founded charity fans for healing, which encouraged men over 40 years of age to pass a PSA blood test.
“There is a 99% healing rate if prostate cancer is detected early,” says Randall.
Ed co-host the program “Remember When”, on MLB Network Radio on Siriusxm, and he takes time of each program to inform the listeners of the fans for healing.
“I am the only person in which I am sure in this country … who stops his show to tell the men of his audience to go to doctors and to obtain a simple blood test, because demography listens largely to my programs is the most vulnerable demography to prostate cancer,” said Randall.
Fans of healing work include accommodation of raising awareness and free projections in stadiums and sports arenas, as well as community health events, advocacy of patients, doctors’ references and male and female support groups.
