Shedeur Sanders’ NFL regular season debut didn’t go as planned — and it only got worse when he returned home Sunday.

According to Pro Football Talk, a burglary occurred at Sanders’ home during the Browns’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The break-in reportedly took place while Sanders and the Browns were playing, although “details are still being gathered,” the report states.

It is unclear what, if anything, was stolen from Sanders’ home.

However, this is another incident in which a top athlete’s home was broken into while he was playing.

In the NFL, fellow quarterbacks Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs had their homes burglarized last season. Travis Kelce, Mahomes’ Chiefs teammate, was also the victim of a break-in the same day as his quarterback while they were in a game.

Burrow discussed the burglary during the Netflix documentary series “Quarterback.”

“Of course it happened to me right now,” Burrow said on the show. “When you’re in seventh heaven, something’s going to bring you back down. That’s just the kind of year it was.”

“There are certain parts of your life that are your own. Your home is one of them,” Burrow continued. “When that’s violated, people find out where you live, all these different things. Everyone’s failures in their job are not visible to the whole world. It’s a very vulnerable position. I put myself in this position because I like it. Um, I don’t like the other party.”

Four Chilean nationals were arrested in the burglary and authorities released a photo of them posing with the stolen paraphernalia.

Burrow told Lou Anarumo, the Bengals’ defensive coordinator, that the burglars stole “all my jewelry… but they could have stolen things a lot worse than that.”

In the Browns’ 23-17 loss, Sanders made his regular season debut after starter Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. Sanders was 4 of 16 for 47 yards with one interception. He was also fired twice by the Ravens.
