Auburn Tigers’ male basketball coach Bruce Pearl should retire before the 2025-26 season, according to several reports on Monday.
Steven Pearl, Bruce’s son, would be ready to take over the program. He was listed as a associated head coach.

Bruce Pearl’s reported retirement comes as rumors swirl to find out if he would be a candidate to replace Tommy Tuberville in the American Senate. Tuberville arises for the governor of Alabama.
In July, Pearl approached the possibility on the “Scott Jennings Show”, wondering if he could have such an important impact on the world as the head coach of Auburn.

“Can I also have an impact as a basketball coach?” Said Pearl. “I graduated from children. I teach children. … I don’t know I have to be a senator to (have an impact), there is so much about Washington who are so dysfunctional that I don’t even know that I could make a difference there.”
Pearl, who is Jewish, expressed his fervent support for Israel in the face of the rise in anti-Semitism in the United States since the terrorist attacks on October 7 in Israel. He was a supporter of how President Donald Trump also managed conflicts in the Middle East.
Pearl was also used to be the president of the US Israel Education Association.

He had 246-125 as a head coach of the Tigers and led the team with two appearances of the Final Four.
