The Philadelphia Phillies star, Bryce Harper, and the MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, stumbled heads at a meeting of questions and answers between the commissioner and the team, in several reports.

At one point, Harper told Manfred if he was there to talk about the salary ceiling, he could “get the F-” from the clubhouse.

Manfred was not in the clubhouse to speak specifically about a potential salary ceiling, but the question of the sports economy attracted Harper’s anger, Espn reported. He would also have said that players “were not afraid to lose 162 games” if MLB was to offer a ceiling.

Manfred would have said that he was not going to leave. Finally, the Phillies Nick Castellanos voltiseur tried to disseminate the situation, saying that he had more questions. Harper and Manfred would have shook hands before the commissioner’s departure, but the first basic player in the Phillies refused to answer the phone calls the next day.

“It was quite intense, definitely passionate,” Castellanos told Espn. “Both. The commissioner gives him back to Bryce and Bryce bringing him over to the commissioner. He’s the harp. He has been doing this since he was 15 years old. It’s just another day. I was not surprised.”

Manfred and Harper refused to comment more, according to ESPN.

Collective baseball negotiations are expected to expire on December 1, 2026, and some players were concerned about a possible leader of the owners for a salary ceiling.

Manfred and other owners have cited the disparity of the pay as one of the biggest problems in sport, while the MLB is also working down on income from regional sports networks. MLB has never had a salary ceiling.
