LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau has a big plan for the $125 million he gets from his Saudi bosses.

“We’re doing a megaproject,” DeChambeau said. “It’s been in the works for a few years now, and we’re at the point where we’re getting building permits. People know about it now.

“We acquired huge amounts of land in my hometown, and it’s a three-phase process to build an entire community and increase the size of where I grew up by 30%”

DeChambeau says his intention is to create a significant golf presence in the community, adding that the time frame to complete this project is a little over a year.

“It’s a large-scale, fully thought-out project. It’s not just about bringing golfers to the game but also bringing people to the Central Valley. You’re building a community around a multi-sport complex.” , he declared.

“It will take 12 to 15 months to get permits approved for the entire perimeter. We currently have over 200 acres of land. It will be a multi-sport complex center – training ground, golf course, residential community center, the whole thing.”

DeChambeau was paid $125 million to join LIV Golf in June 2022. He says his latest project is only possible thanks to the Saudi-funded organization’s massive salary.

“A lot of the reason I was able to do this is because of LIV. They gave me the economic viability to do these things and the platform to be able to do it, growing up on YouTube,” he said. he declared.

DeChambeau was one of several American golfers to draw widespread backlash from fans for choosing to participate in the Saudi-backed league when it launched due to humanitarian concerns with Saudi Arabia and its relations with the West.

Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Jon Rahm were other prominent PGA stars who chose to accept LIV’s huge paydays during the league’s aggressive pursuit of the sport’s biggest names.

DeChambeau is also close friends with President Donald Trump and invited Trump to perform with him in a video on his YouTube channel.

DeChambeau told PK Press Club Digital at the time that he had no regrets about it.

“There’s always a risk associated with it. But, from my perspective, it was entertainment-driven,” DeChambeau told PK Press Club Digital in August at Maridoe Golf Club, site of the LIV Golf Team Championship.

“We can talk about politics. That’s a whole other conversation, something I wasn’t trying to do on my YouTube channel. It was just about providing great entertainment.”

DeChambeau joined Trump, Elon Musk and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas to attend the SpaceX rocket launch in November.
