King Charles broke a long-standing royal tradition when Buckingham Palace released a statement regarding the monarch’s shocking cancer diagnosis.
Despite health problems, Charles had remained positive and continued to carry out his royal duties while undergoing weekly treatments for cancer. It’s been more than a year and Charles revealed Friday that his treatment could be reduced because he was getting better.

“The advice of cancer experts is that, in her determination to support the entire cancer community, it is best that Her Majesty does not address her own specific condition but instead addresses those affected by all forms of the disease,” the Palace spokesperson said in a statement.
Cancer experts have previously pointed out that celebrity diagnoses may be motivated by good intentions, but often have a negative impact on medical experts and researchers.
