- Build A Rocket Boy confirmed that the redundancy process began
Build A Rocket Boy was struck by layoffs after MindseyeDisastrous launch.
The futuristic and solo narrative game was published earlier this month for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC, with an extremely bad reception.
Based on performance problems, bugs and countless other technical problems, Mindseye The Steam page is now found at a “mainly negative” note with more than 1840 user reviews, with a promising boy Build Boy.
Now, two weeks after the launch, sources tell IGN that the studio began the process of redundancy in the middle of the bad release of the game, and dismissals should affect more than 100 employees.
An anonymous source said to the publication that there was no word about the number of people affected, but that the 45-day standard consultation process began on June 23, which is triggered when an employer offers 100 or more redundancies within 90 days in the United Kingdom.
It is understood that Build A Rocket Boy has around 300 British employees who are currently working in the studio and around 200 abroad.
“We can confirm that we had to make the painful decision to notify our working team from certain internal changes to Build a Rocket Boy,” the studio confirmed in a statement to IGN.
“While we are working to reallocate roles for as many people affected by these changes as possible, unfortunately, we are starting an official consultation process which can lead to redundancies. This decision has not been taken lightly, and we are committed to managing this process in the coming weeks.”
“The launch of Mindseye was an important step to build a rocket, but we know that we still have a lot to do to develop our community in the years to come. The challenges we have faced with only strengthening our determination and, although we are deeply saddened by today’s decision and recognizing our incredible team, this change allows us to focus on the supply of updates and optimization of performance in progress for MindseyeWhile also ensuring the long -term success of the construction of future Rocket Boy ambitions. “”
The studio previously confirmed that it had post-launch plans “already in motion” for the game and that players can expect more updates and refinements “to come shortly after the release”.
He also said that he had planned to support the game for years, but has not yet revealed his roadmap.
