Bunnie Xo opens up about the darkest chapter of her marriage to Jelly Roll.
In his new memoir, Stripped: Unfiltered and Unapologeticthe podcaster, 44, reveals she considered suicide in 2018 after discovering the country star, 41, was having an affair just two years after getting married – a betrayal that nearly ended her marriage and her life.
After an explosive fight, Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord, left their Nashville home with his daughter, Bailee. Bunnie, real name Alisa DeFord, became increasingly suspicious.
Despite her denials, she later learned that “her ex-fling was waiting for her in a hotel down the street.” When a friend confirmed the affair, the weight of it all crushed her.
“That night I contemplated suicide,” she revealed. “The pain was so intense that I really wanted to get it over with.” She remembers looking at a bottle of pills and wondering, “Would J care if I was dead?” » Finally, she stopped.
The road back was not easy. “I’m not going to pretend that we’re back to normal. That’s absolutely not the case,” she admitted, adding, “It would take years to actually feel that this man loved me — that I wasn’t disposable.”
Last year, the couple celebrated nine years of marriage.
