LAHORE:
Bushra Bibi’s daughter has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to meet her mother, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Prison.
Mubashra Khawar Maneka filed the petition through Lahore High Court Bar Association President Asif Naswana. The Punjab government, Superintendent of Adiala Jail and other relevant authorities have been made respondents in the case.
In her petition, the petitioner stated that Bushra Bibi was currently incarcerated in Adiala Prison and was her biological daughter. She argued that under prison rules she was legally entitled to meet her mother.
The petition further stated that according to the prescribed schedule, Tuesdays are reserved for family visits in prison. However, despite repeated attempts, the director of Adiala prison allegedly refused him permission to meet his mother.
The petitioner requested the court to order the superintendent of Adiala Prison to arrange her immediate meeting with Bushra Bibi.
