Butchers with high demand before Eid

Islamabad:

With Eidul Azha for less than a week, the demand for skilled butchers in the territory of the capital of Islamabad (ICT) has increased considerably, motivated by the tip of the massacre of sacrificial animals during the Islamic festival.

While some residents have already bought sacrificial animals, many are always looking for appropriate cattle. In this scenario, the role of butchers is considered vital to cut the meat. By keeping their importance and their demand in mind, professional butchers have also increased meat preparation rates compared to last year.

Khawar Shehzad, a butcher who also runs a meat shop in Islamabad sector, said that Eidul Azha is a special Islamic festival after the slaughter of animals at a mass level, stressing that everyone was looking for professional butchers to chop their meat, which has aroused high demand.

“On Eidul Azha, everyone is looking for a professional butcher to cut their meat in a quality way; this is our high season,” he said.

Shehzad shared its slaughter rates for this year, noting that cow slaughter on the first day of Eid is at RS25,000, while the rate falls to Rs20,000 on the second day.

On the third day, the cost varies between 15,000 rupees and 18,000 rupees, according to demand.

The loads for the sacrifices of goat and sheep vary from 6,000 rupees to 7,000 rupees, he added. Other butchers, such as Asmat Ullah, also said these same prices, emphasizing high demand.

While residents of the territory of the capital Islamabad (ICT) are delighted with the next Eidul Azha festival, but they have also expressed concerns about the rise in animal prices and high charges for butchers.

Tariq Mahmood, a resident of the same sector who bought his animal for the slaughter of Eid, said that he was trying to obtain the reservation of a professional butcher for his meat preparation, which has high prices and a strong demand, adding: “If I cannot book one, I will go with seasonal time.”

According to Tariq, seasonal butchers are more or less effective and qualified, sharing the experience of its previous year. Despite the facts that the demand for professional and qualified butchers is notably high, people have somehow managed to find the appropriate person to sacrifice their animal.

To help meet growing demand, many butchers from all over the country also go to Islamabad during Eid. These visiting butchers often charge slightly lower rates and offer a practical solution to the qualified work shortage in the city during Eid.

Their presence also gave them the opportunity to improve their earnings more than they generally have in their natal cities.
