After missing the last five games, Caitlin Clark appears at dawn back to the court for the fever of the Indiana.
Head coach Stephanie White told journalists on Tuesday that she expects her star playmaker to be available against the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday evening.
“If there is no setback after today, I expect it to be available,” said White.

Clark admitted that it was difficult to watch her team from the sidelines, so she appreciated full training on Monday with her teammates.
“Yeah, I just think it’s nice to come back there and get started again with my teammates,” she said. “It’s going to be fun to come back there, hopefully, and feel things right again.”

The question is what White will do in terms of Clark minutes if it is actually available Tuesday evening.
Clark has noticed in the past that she does not like minute restrictions when she is healthy to play. However, she understands that White must do her job to ensure that the fever leaves with victory.
“I do not know the type of minute that I will get and what it will look like, but just compete and play hard,” said Clark. “It will be a team that moves constantly, so be aware and active. Bring energy. It is difficult to sit for a few weeks, so I’m really excited to come back there.”

Clark added that she hoped for a “decent quantity” of minutes if she plays, preferably in the “upper 20”.
“It depends on what I feel and how the game is happening, and what the team also needs,” she said.
The fever went 3-2 in the last absence of Clark this season. She missed five games earlier in the year with a left quad tension.
White has discussed the appearance of her team since Clark, which the offense generally crosses when it is on the ground, was sidelined.

“First and foremost, our energy and defensive efforts had been really good,” she said. “Our mobility, our activity level, our ability to execute patterns, for the most part, had been really good. We had a defensive versatility, and I like offensively how the ball moved. Several players getting touches, we move the side of the ball next to it. We get high percentage looks, and that was part of the conversations of the ball.”
In the nine games she has played this season, Clark has an average of 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and five rebounds per game.
